Mt. Pisgah's Mission Strategy is based upon the Acts 1:8 Model.
Jerusalem (Kershaw, Lancaster, & Chesterfield Counties)
We provide Sacks-of-Love every week to Mt. Pisgah Elementary School. Our Men's Ministry has built several handicap ramps in our area. We have also done some work with the Lancaster Children's Home, Tri-County Preganancy Center and distribute free Bibles at several local stores.
Judea (South Carolina)
Each year we send out Prisoner Packets and Migrant Worker Kits to be distributed by the South Carolina Baptist Convention. We also participate in Raceway Ministries distributing tracts during the Darlington race and work within our community to help with various needs, one is building handicap ramps.
Samaria (United States)
Our recent focus has been the Appalachian Region where we have sent Mission Teams to Ranson, West Virginia (2006) and Rogersville, Tennessee (2007, 2008. 2009, & 2010). Both teams conducted VBS and Backyard Bible Clubs & Home Repair. We have been fortunate to see folks come to Christ in both locations. This year we will be working with SWARM Ministries in Bryson City, NC.
We have also adopted Dakota Sonshine in Sisseton, South Dakota. We continue to pray and work with Don & Teena Lykins as they minister to the Native Americans on the Lake Traverse Indian Reservation.
Ends of the Earth
Each year we support the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and collect Christmas Shoe Boxes for Samitan's Purse. Our Pastor has also worked with the Hungarian Baptist Churches in and around Oradea, Romania and will be going to the Amazon jungle in Peru to work with the Urarina People. We are praying about about a partnership with REAP North in Peru along with the KBA.
We also support the Kershaw Baptist Association and their partnership with the Urarina People on the Amazon River.
Mt. Pisgah takes several special offerings each year to support missions. These include Annie Armstrong, Associational Missions Offering, Christmas in August, Janie Chapman State Missions Offering, Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, Baby Bottle Offering for the Tri-County Pregnancy Center, and a Mother's Day Offering for the SC Ministry for the Aging. We also support the Connie Maxwell Children's Home and the Gideon's mnistry.
Our Men's Ministry and Women's Missionary Union (WMU) play a vital role in missions education, missions giving and leading the church in mission work.
